Freemasons donation of £2000
Last week our Chief Executive Julie Haliwell was presented with a cheque from Frank Smith, the head of the Order of the Secret Monitor Freemasons in East Lancashire.
Initially £1000 was raised by Frank and the Freemasons of his local order. However, when Frank heard of the recent Comfort for All Campaign, he decided to speak to the Freemasons headquarters down in London, known as Grand Conclave to match the donation.
They were able to match the money raised which meant that Frank was able to make a donation of £2000 to the Hospice.
Frank visited the Hospice and met with Julie and her team to present the cheque. Julie was able to show Frank some of the furniture on the in-patient ward that the Freemasons donations would be helping to buy newer versions of, which will help our patients and their families be most comfortable.
Our supporters are the reason we can care for local people and their families suffering from incurable diseases.
