Hi, I’m Jasmine, and I’m a Nursing Assistant on the ward here at Springhill Hospice. I never need an excuse to shout about why I love working in such a special place like Springhill, and I hope you don’t mind me taking this opportunity with you now to do just that. I feel privileged that I can play a comforting part in somebody’s life who is going through what can be an extremely difficult and scary time; not just for the patient, but for their family too.
For our patients, making every moment count and spending precious time with their loved ones is so important. For some of those I take care of, this Christmas could be their last. No one should miss the magic of Christmas.
I know everyone’s income has been really affected because of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis, and it does worry me at times that we might not be able to do everything that makes Christmas special at the Hospice. With the help of my wonderful colleagues, we have come up with our Christmas wish list, our Springhill Merry Moment Gifts.
